Kris Deelane is a multi-instrumental singer-songwriter and powerhouse vocalist with decades of touring and recording experience. She has opened for national artists such as Brian Wilson, Joan Jett, John Doe, Martha and the Motels, 3 Dog Night, and Peter Yarrow. Her regional credits include Jerry Joseph, Lady Rizo, Lewi Longmire, and Michael Dean Damron, as well as her original bands – SweetJuice and Adam + Kris. For 10 years, she has been a bandleader for Portland’s annual Next Waltz shows at the Alberta Rose — a tribute to The Band’s final show and benefit for The Jeremy Wilson Foundation.

The Hurt features several Portland music luminaries including Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductees and CBA Muddy Award winners Steve Kerin on keys and Pete Moss on sax, as well as Ned Failing and Alan Toribio (Mexican Gun Fight/Floydian Slips) on drums and guitar. Heidi Shuler (Merl Saunders) joins on percussion. With her backing singers, “The Lady Parts,” and horn section, Kris is dipping into deep cuts and old-school favorites from the soul sounds of the ’60s and ’70s.
