“One of the most naturally gifted musicians I have ever encountered….a singer’s singer and musician’s musician” — Joe Bonamassa

A multi-faceted artist who sings with passion and power, Jade MacRae was born in the UK and, upon migrating to Australia as a teenager, began her musical journey playing piano and violin and studying at the acclaimed Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

MacRae discovered a natural affinity for songwriting early on and, after a successful pop/TV career in Australia in the early 2000s, her dynamic stage presence and talent for vocal arranging propelled her onstage and into the studio with James Brown, John Legend, Ray Charles, Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel, Neil Finn, Dave Stewart, George Benson, Renee Geyer, Eric Gales, Larry McRay and Mike Zito, among others.

Since 2015, MacRae has been a fixture in the touring and studio band for blues guitar great Joe Bonamassa. Bonamassa calls MacRae “One of the most naturally gifted musicians I have ever encountered” and continues, “Jade is what you would call a singer’s singer and musician’s musician. It is rare to see the combination of soulfulness and technical dexterity meet in such a great way.”

In 2020, MacRae released her third full length record, Handle Me With Care, a romping throwback to 50s R&B touted by The Guardian as “the perfect comeback vehicle.” In 2023 MacRae released singles “Out Of Sight” (featuring Kirk Fletcher) and “Rose Coloured Glasses,” both from the forthcoming album In My Veins due July 2024.

Backing Jade on her Waterfront debut will be fellow Aussie Lachy Doley on keys, and Kirk Fletcher on guitar. All three have toured and/or collaborated with Joe Bonamassa.
