Duffy Bishop is a force of nature. Her music is steeped in the blues, and her decades long career has proved her to be a passionate performer who defies any one label. She has garnered multiple awards and is in the Halls of Fame for The Washington Blues Society, The Cascade Blues Association and the Oregon Music Hall of Fame.
Duffy Bishop has opened for, or played with, such greats as Etta James, Ruth Brown, Bonnie Raitt and many more. Like the artists who inspired her, Duffy‘s charisma, authentic voice, and ferocious presence will send chills down your spine and put a smile on your face.
With long-time collaborator, guitarist and husband Chris Carlson, Duffy has performed across the USA, Canada, Europe and Asia. A favorite for years on the Northwest festival and club circuit, winner of multiple Cascade Blues Association Muddy Awards, Duffy and Chris left their longtime Portland home in 2014, relocating to St. Augustine, Florida seeking warmth and sun. They return with band and to help the festival celebrate its 35th Anniversary. “The Waterfront Blues Festival,” says Chris, “has always been her favorite.”
