West Coast-based, Americana rock band, Ashleigh Flynn & The Riveters released their album Good Morning, Sunshine in April 2025. Recently signed to LA-based Blackbird Record Label, the all-female band finds joy and connection with music fans via their energized live show and ability to “shred as well as the boys do.”
Technical musical skills aside, there are compelling layers throughout Flynn’s seasoned songwriting that shed light on the human corners of darkness and, in turn, uplift listeners in the same way her favorite artists have done for her. Some of those heroes Flynn has had the opportunity to share the stage with, such as Willie Nelson, Todd Snider, The Wood Brothers, Hayes Carll, Amy Ray and Nanci Griffith.
Flynn started the Riveters in 2017, with LA-based guitar player Nancy Luca, drawn to collaborate not only because of mutual musical admiration but to elevate women in the music industry by putting together a circle of female players, producers and engineers. Taught early on by Mike Campbell (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), Luca’s musical diversity fits with Flynn’s sense for timeless melodies, resulting in an album for fans of Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, The Allman Brothers and The Band.
The Riveters have grown over the years, with a dozen musicians in the Portland and LA areas, including Carmen Paradise on bass, Blair Coppage on drums, Liz Chibucos on electric guitar and Isabel Dammann on fiddle.
“Ashleigh Flynn & The Riveters deliver joyous, high-octane performances, and the 11 songs on this collection overflow with ebullience and energy. Every song on Good Morning, Sunshine will have listeners up and dancing; Ashleigh Flynn & The Riveters light up any room they play, and the tracks on this album capture the energy and delight of the band’s live performances.” — No Depression, Album Review
