Jujuba (joo joo bah) is a ridiculously danceable Afrobeat and Juju music from Portland. The eleven-piece ensemble features Nigerian master talking drum legend, Nojeem Lasisi, Ghanaian Kpanlogo drum master, Alex Mensah, a blazing horn section, and a funky, vintage electric rhythm section. 

As a member of Nigerian superstar King Sunny Ade’s group, the African Beats, Nojeem Lasisi toured the world and appeared on numerous recordings with King Sunny, including “Seven Degrees North” and “Odu.” Jujuba has been bringing the heat to every performance for 23 years, getting people on their feet and moving to their funky, joyous, drum-fueled Afrobeat and Juju music.
