Lo Steele with Igor Prado

Main Stage

2:00 PM

Lo Steele — daughter of Portland’s “First Lady of the Blues,” LaRhonda Steele — is a rising young star in her own right: an award-winning actor, singer, and songwriter who combines the traditions of soul, gospel and blues with modern R&B. Lo recently released her first full length-album, Happy Girl, described in the Portland Mercury as a “cure-all for listeners aching to feel seen.” In the past year Lo has had the privilege of opening for Dianne Reeves as a part of the PDX Jazz Festival, opening for Tank and the Bangas at Revolution Hall, and touring Brazil with the Prado Brothers Band*.

Also an accomplished actor, you may have seen Lo on various theatre stages around town in productions like Hair, Tick… Tick… Boom! and Clyde’s at Portland Center Stage, or What I Learned in Paris and Passing Strange at Portland Playhouse.

*Guitarist Igor Prado and his drummer-brother, Yuri, join Lo from Brazil to reprise highlights from that incendiary collaboration and tour. The Prado Brothers Band will also be featured on their own set at the festival.
