Mason Trail, the grandson of Boozoo Chavis, is a zydeco accordionist and singer. Growing up in Louisana, his music has influences of traditional zydeco and country. He got his start at the very young age of 10, learning to play the accordion. His passion for music continued when he taught himself how to play the bass guitar in the lobby of a hotel that his family had evacuated to during Hurricane Rita, in 2005.
After becoming familiar with the bass, he and his cousins formed The Dog Hill Stompers Zydeco Band. They traveled across the country sharing their talents with friends and fans. In May of 2016, Mason lost his older brother and bandmate, Quincy, in a single-vehicle accident. Mason chose to keep his brothers passion for the music alive, sparking him to create the band Mason Trail and Zydeco Rhythm. Zydeco Rhythm has a repertoire of modern zydeco along with traditional authentic zydeco.
