With a voice that’s “silky smooth,” (Blues Revue Magazine) and “gracefully moves among genres from blues to jazz to funk and ballads,” (Sawyer County Record), Ellen Whyte returns to the Waterfront with her “Plus-Sized Band,” featuring Garry Meziere (guitar), Gene Houck (bass/vocals), Jean-Pierre Garau (keys/vocals), Ed Pierce (drums), Pete Petersen (sax), Renato Caranto (sax), John Moak (trombone), and Greg Garrett (trumpet). Multi-Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, and educator Ellen Whyte inspires audiences of all ages with her luminous talent, dynamism, joy and passion.

A multi-instrumentalist with over 35 years of experience fronting solo to 10-piece big band performances, Whyte is an inductee of both the Oregon Music Hall Of Fame and Cascade Blues Association Hall Of Fame. Her “maturity gives her added credibility and depth… [expressing itself through] local popularity and critical recognition.” (The Oregonian) Whyte’s seven acclaimed albums received three GRAMMY Award nominations and a Best Independently-Produced Record of the Year Award from the Cascade Blues Association.
