Waterfront Blues Festival Celebrates Another Spectacular Year
The best lineup in 27 years, fantastic weather, dedicated sponsors, thousands of enthusiastic volunteers, and generous blues fans came together to make the 2014 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival a spectacular success.

The Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union, raised $1,114,004 through donations at the gate as well as purchases of special passes and Delta Music Experience blues cruise tickets. Approximately 100,000 people attended over the four days of this year’s event. Read more.

Curtis Salgado Fills in for Gregg Allman
Health reasons have forced Gregg Allman to cancel his Sunday performance at the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union. Fortunately for attendees, Curtis Salgado has rearranged his tour schedule and is flying back to close out the festival. Read more

Early-bird Prices for Waterfront Blues Festival Passes End May 2; Additional Artists Announced
Early-bird pricing ends Friday, May 2 for passes to the 27th annual Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union held July 3 - 6, 2014 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park to benefit Oregon Food Bank. More acts are continually added to the festival lineup, such as Joan Osborne with The Holmes Brothers on Spectacular Sunday, Bombino on opening day, Otis Taylor with special guest Mato Nanji (of Indigenous), Portland's pillar of soul Ural Thomas & The Pain and more great artists. Waterfront Blues Festival Announces Safety Updates; 4th of July Celebration Reassures Community of Security
Oregon Food Bank announces safety updates today for the 27th annual Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union held July 3 - 6, 2014 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. In keeping with best practices for events and festivals around the nation, updates include (but are not limited to) no hard-sided coolers, no large blankets or tarps, no high-backed chairs and limited outside beverages. 
 
Instead, festival attendees are encouraged to bring a soft backpack smaller than 16x16x8 inches, a blanket no larger than 6x8 feet, a chair with seat up to 12 inches off the ground and two factory-sealed water bottles. Read more.

Oregon Food Bank announces today the featured lineup at its 27th annual Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union on July 3 - 6, 2014.  Headlining artists Gregg Allman, Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys, Maceo Parker, Lee Fields & the Expressions and John Nemeth & The Bo-Keys join more than 100 blues acts on four stages over the July 4th weekend event to benefit Oregon Food Bank's mission of fighting hunger and its root causes. Read more

Perfect festival weather, a high-powered lineup, committed sponsors, enthusiastic volunteers and generous blues fans helped make the 2013 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival a sensational success.

The Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union, raised a record-breaking $1,315,000 through donations at the gate as well as purchases of special passes and DME blues cruise tickets, exceeding the festival’s $1 million goal.  Read more.

Empty Bowls fight hunger

Blues fans will find more than music at the 2013 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union, July 4 to 7. They’ll also find beautiful, hand-crafted pottery at the Oregon Potters Association Empty Bowls booth.

Empty Bowls symbolizes hunger and poverty faced by people throughout the world. Originally created by a group of Michigan potters in 1991, Empty Bowls is now a national effort and an important fundraiser at the Waterfront Blues Festival.  Read more.

“Our 2013 festival promises to be huge and absolutely sensational,” said Laura Golino de Lovato, director of development, Oregon Food Bank. 

The 2013 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, presented by First Tech Credit Union, will feature more than 120 performances on four stages, six DME Blues Cruises on the Willamette River, workshops, dances and more.  Read more.

The first event of the 26th annual Waterfront Blues Festival is an early-evening DME Hoodoo Moon Blues Cruise, Wednesday, July 3, featuring Joe Louis Walker, who was recently inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame; Tad Robinson Band with Alex Schultz; Too Slim; and Portland’s popular Ellen Whyte Sextet.  Read more.
